  • I had just finished reading the book Lee's Real Plan At Gettysburg by Troy Harmon and I really think that he hit the mark! Cemetery Hill was the key no doubt about it, this place controlled everything the roads that is all of the major routes go threw this area and as far as troop movement and of course supplies lines this is the place to be, i have to say that this is one great book and it does give the reader new insight into the Gettysburg campaign, and it really gets you to think, In a way I think that there was a lot of error's going on that is why General Lee did not prevail, When one of his General's got shot in and around the Peach Orchard he had some of his COL: take over and they didn't even have a clue to what General Lee had planed for the 3rd days battle, I believe that if everyone would have been on the same page General Lee would have won the 3rd's battle some people seen to think that on the 3rd day he came up with a new battle plan but in his report's he stated the main objectived was the same as in the second days battle
