  • Man it has been a while scene I wrote in here, it is kind of hard keeping up with the myspace and the facebook and everything, but I know that this page is here and I will write in this blog when I get time, I am making plans to go bike ridding in the mooring this time we are going something like 90 miles away on a new trail my buddy rode this trail in a different spot and said it is real nice and I hope that I can get some good pictures of the area,

All done with therphy all I have to do now is strenthen the arm myself I don’t need to go to threphy for that anyway I just couldn’t get early appoiments anymore and I am getting tired of going in the middle of my day for therphy like 9:30 am and stuff  like that is the middle of my day I get up at 6:00 am and I am in our home gym at 8am to 10 am and I don’t like breaking up my routine for that stupid stuff that I can handle myself , Besides I do have a life and have other things that I can be doing besides going to therphy so I talked it over with the Doctor and he also agree that this is one thing that I can handle myself, All I have to do is use my bands and light weights once a day to keep it loose and help it get stronger, But I have to say that without Therphy I would not have gotton full rototation back so they did do that and they did a Great Job of it so now that rest of it is up to me .

Well got to get to bed 06:00 comes early so Take Care and God Bless Bye for Now

  • Well my son is back on base now going threw his bnoc training for his SSG he did do real well he drove to Fort Lenonard MO and the only time he had trouble was in St Louis with all of the detoures and all

Still going to therphy and it does seem like I will get full use of the arm back Thank Heavens it is like I always say it is all in the mind set you have if you want it to be so then it will be if you don’t want it to get better and not follow the doctor’s orders then it won’t get better

Well got to go for now so Take Care and as always God Bless

  • My Son is home on leave for a few weeks then he has to go to Mo for a few months then it is back to Fort Bragg N.C. and the East Coast for a while, My Wife and I really enjoy it when the kids are home, it is like old times again when they were small but of course you can never go back it time and that is a fact

Still going to therphy 3 times a week the way that they tell me I’ll be going to therphy for about 4 months till we get this arm back to normal again, I have to say that it is really hurting after I have therphy and for the rest of the day, and man when the weather is going to change it hurts in fact with this little bit of typing that I am doing right now it getting it to hurt so this entry is going to be a little on the short side

Starting to snow again I would rather have snow that dam Ice that we have been getting, that Ice is so dangerour to walk and drive on and of course you get people who think that their 4×4′s will go on ice and that just isn’t true but their are fools no matter what you tell them i would think that people would realize that four wheels drives do not work very well on ice and also you can not drive fast even on snow

Well we’ll close for now Bye for now and as always God Bless

  • Well Christmas has come and gone but it was a very nice Christmas this year the kids had to stay at their station’s and could not come home but of course the weather here has been bad this winter so far no snow but a lot of ice I would rather have snow at least with snow you can drive on it with this ice not even all wheel drives and 4×4 can’t go on it in fact when pulling in on the 24th I had a little problem I slid down the drive way almost ending up in the yard, after the neighbor left to go somewhere I way able to get it out my car is a all wheel drive the reason I waited for was because I didn’t want to hit her then I parked it in the front of the building till the afternoon when the ice melted a little,

The arm is hurting lately because I guess the weather has a lot to do with it because of the big temp changes from 50 deg to 2 deg and lower so I guess it is just going to take a while to get over this But enough of that

Enjoy the Hoildays and Remember Jesus is the reason for the season and like I said Enjoy the season and that the person who the season is for

  • Well we’re still  going to therapy and the way the therapist  is saying I will be going to therapy for this arm for about the next four months, I guess I really did it up good, but with the therapy of already been having I am starting to be able to move in a little bit better with very little pain, but man when this weather changes I really get it in the arm so to say, but being retired that is all I have to do is go to therapy there is really nothing pressing here at home,

I spoke to my son the other day on the telephone he seems to be doing okay so he is undercount down when he is able to return to the states, It has been a long year since he left here to go to Korea and I will really miss him, especially in the summer when he comes home on leave we do a lot of fishing which I really miss that quality time, Also now that my daughter is in the states whenever she comes home on leave in the summer her and I will also be going fishing that is a big thing with the kids and myself, My neighbor sons have been asking their dad how my son is doing because he goes muzzleloading hunting with them for deer, they said that they really have a blast with him and he also enjoys their company.

We’re Batten down the hatches again for another possible ice storm our local television station news has missed the all so far this year, but then again I guess that’s what they get for hiring idiot.

Got to go, Take Care God Bless               Bye For Now

  • Still suffering with the arm still hurts a lot but I guess it’s not going to get better liked overnight I have to go to therapy three times a week just to have them stretched muscles in the arm with really no actual therapy being done with weights or anything, I still have to keep in the sling that they gave me for the arm until about the middle of January, and of course got to keep it close to my body which that is no problem because if I move it in any way away from my body for any distance it really hurts, like today the therapist just barely touched it and I almost went through the roof in pain but I think a lot of that is due to the weather however I have been trying to sleep at night with it nestled in between two pillows which seems to be working but I still got a keep my shoulders up right at about a 45° angle so wish I am actually sleeping on for pillows underneath my shoulder and had and two pillows for my arm.

I took my daughter to the airport on Tuesday she flew out to Oklahoma which is where her new base is, and of course the airline lost one of her pieces of luggage and it would have to be the most important piece of luggage that they lost, It was her Army duffel bag which hands all of her uniforms and all of her boots in that she needs for her job, they told her that maybe it would be on the next flight at 8:15 p.m. which means she would only have to spend two extra hours at the airport waiting for the next airplane to come but unfortunately it was not on the next flight they call her the following morning early and told her that it had arrived on one of the first flight they came in that morning they told her that they would deliver it to the barracks where she is residing at this time the she told him don’t bother that she would go out for it which she did, but all in all it wasn’t too bad I guess according to what she’s been telling us the base itself doesn’t seem like it’s going to be a bad garrison duty, I told her take one day at a time and things will work out as soon as she gets to know the people in her unit, that is one of the bad things about being in the army you never know where you’re going or when you’re going to go and it’s always making new friends no matter where you go , it is definitely not a job for a shy person, I finally got ahold of my son and Korea after a month he said he had been pretty busy with everything that he has been doing he only had about 10 different jobs that he is responsible for, once he rotates back to the state he will be headed back to his home base where he left from which is  in North Carolina, which I am sure he will be very happy he likes where they are a little tougher and follow Army regulations to the letter , but then again he is airborne and that is the way he started his Army career so that is nothing new to him and he feels out of place when ever there not like that, you would think that all Army units would expect the same from everybody but ever since the army and every other branch of the service one volunteer they got very laxed in discipline and unfortunately it seems like everything else it’s not like the army of the old days, it seems to me from everyone I talk to who is either in the military or just recently got out of the military that they are making it just like the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts somewhere along the line the powers to be just don’t got a clue what the military is and that is very scary in my opinion it’s like you’re on a sinking ocean liner and find Daffy Duck  And  Goofy as the captain and first mate, God help us all.

Is time for me to get off my soapbox for tonight, So thank you for reading take care and is always God Bless till next time bye  for now

  • I know it’s been about a week since I wrote in this blog, but I do have a good reason I finally got the rotator cuff surgery done it will be week two weeks on Tuesday since I had the surgery, this time though it was a little different approximately in 1993 I had rotator cuff surgery on my right arm and it really wasn’t that bad, but over the years the way they do things have changed some for the better and some for the worst as far as the better this time  whenever I went into the operating room in they put a nerve block in the left shoulder for pain control which that work pretty well the block I received approximately 3 p.m. and it did not wear off until 2 a.m. the following morning which that worked out very very well, but from what I understand from the therapist I really did it in this time with this arm instead of being a small ripped which I  had in the right arm this time I had a huge hole clean through the rotator cuff so what they did this time besides sewing up the rotator cuff they shaved the bone and knocked off the calcium deposits, whenever I woke up this time from surgery I had no pain but they had my whole arm in an inmobilizer, which supposedly I have to wear for the next six weeks and I have to sleep in a recliner instead of my bed which that it’s kind of difficult, due to the fact that I am short and the recliner is an oversized recliner, and it’s a little difficult getting in and out of the recliner and it’s really a son of a gun to get the feet down on it.

Another thing I should add, the reason I can write in my blog and write my e-mails is before I went for the surgery I installed my Point & Speak which my son had gotten   last year for Christmas, which I have to say that was a pretty good invention this is my third Point & Speak out of all of them this is the one that really works the best. And another reason I decided to had the surgery at this point in time is my daughter’s home on leave from the Army which if I have a problem she is here to help me get through it when my wife is at work, to my surprise I have already started therapy two days after surgery which during the right arm surgery I didn’t start until  a week later, I have to say though it is really sore and it still hurts like the dickens at times but like like they say no pain no gain, So we’ll just take one day at a time and see what develops.

Until next entry everybody have a happy Thanksgiving weekend, and enjoy the weekend and be careful and look out for the snow.

Take Care  God Bless By for now

  • Getting ready for my daughter to come home tomorrow really looking forward to it, We have the house already to go, so we can have a very enjoyable visit.  I am glad that she is coming home at this time she will be a big help to my wife due to the fact that I am having surgery I hope that the recovery time for my shoulder really will not be that long the last time I had this surgery was only out of work for approximately 6 weeks so I will consider myself very lucky if the left arm comes back that fast which I really hope and

A group of us met last night for a coffee clash everybody in the building was welcome to come and we had a pretty good turnout we had approximately 9 to 10 people show up, this is something new that were trying to break up the boredom of a long winter, unfortunately over the years everybody that lives here kind of get cabin fever and this way with a weekly coffee clash we all get a chance to get out of the apartment for a few hours, and fact one of the residents brought up to my attention today we should have a movie night also a few times a month and you know I think that’s a great idea. At least for the winter months because in the summertime everybody sits out on their porches in the evening and that is not too bad, but in the winter time  you are in your  apartment all the time, you see we have a lot of elderly people living in this building and some of them  live alone and this way we all get to meet and talk and keep each other company, and also check on the welfare of our neighbors which is the best idea of them all.

  • Well the elections are finally over, we have a new President, President elect Obama, finally we get the old war machine out of office, the outgoing president just don’t get it that he is the worst president this country ever had since its conception, anybody that would start a war over nothing deserves exactly what they get, but unfortunately this yahoo with his mindset that I am right and you are wrong will never understand the common folks, this whole administration has been a blemish on the face of humanity.

Will getting back to our world they have scheduled my surgery for my left rotator cuff for the 18th of the month, Thank heavens at least one of my children won’t be home for the surgery date and will be able to help me for at least a week after the surgery, unfortunately the other one will not be home for a while. But I am really looking forward to seeing my children since it’s been almost a year since I seen either one of them, Being a military family this is one of the things that we have to be used thanks heavens that there is a least telephones that we can keep in contact that way and also computers that we can also keep in contact in that direction, I know as a parent that you cannot live your child’s life but at the same time you do like to keep in contact with your children, I am very Proud of my Children for their decision in serving their country what more can a parent asked for other child that they do believe in putting country first and fighting for what this country believes in, God has really blessed us with our two children both of them always put God, Family, Country, and their friends first in that order.

That is all for now so as always God Bless, take care till next time bye for now

  • Didn’t do too much this weekend, I was trying to rest up after that stress test on Friday even tho I don’t do their treadmill I normally get that chemical shot to speed up the heart, every time I use their treadmill my back goes out and it just knocks me out for a week or so and I just don’t want to spend a week or two in bed with my back out besides I am having enough of problems with my left shoulder rotor cuff being ripped,  and lately with the weather change and it getting colder man has it been hurting like bad I have to take 2 ultram to at lest get a little bit of relieve as soon as I see the heart Doctor and get the reports of all of the testing that I had then I can call the surgeon and get a appoiment made to get this thing operated on and get it ready for next fishing season that starts in April, and of course getting ready to go and look for a pontoon boat which I am really looking forward to, There is nothing like fishing from a pontoon boat with all of that room to either sit or stand and most of all if you start to stiffen up you are able to at least walk on the deck at little bit I was thinking of getting a 18 footer that is more then big enough for me, the Wife and the kids and best of all we all can go out at the same time and still have enough room for more people I think that you can take at least 8 people at the same time as long as you have enough of the PFD’s ( Person Floatation Device ) and I have already have 6 PFD’s and of course I also have the throwable that is another thing you have to have and the fire extingusher and the sound device so we’re all ready to go execpt fot the boat and the outboard and that should come all together I would like to get a 20hph for the new boat that is more then big enough to handle it

Well got to go so Take Care and as always God Bless untill next time bye for now
