I know it's been about a week since I wrote in this blog, but I do have a good reason I finally got the rotator cuff surgery done it will be week two weeks on Tuesday since I had the surgery, this time though it was a little different approximately in 1993 I had rotator cuff surgery on my right arm and it really wasn't that bad, but over the years the way they do things have changed some for the better and some for the worst as far as the better this time whenever I went into the operating room in they put a nerve block in the left shoulder for pain control which that work pretty well the block I received approximately 3 p.m. and it did not wear off until 2 a.m. the following morning which that worked out very very well, but from what I understand from the therapist I really did it in this time with this arm instead of being a small ripped which I had in the right arm this time I had a huge hole clean through the rotator cuff so what they did this time besides sewing up the rotator cuff they shaved the bone and knocked off the calcium deposits, whenever I woke up this time from surgery I had no pain but they had my whole arm in an inmobilizer, which supposedly I have to wear for the next six weeks and I have to sleep in a recliner instead of my bed which that it's kind of difficult, due to the fact that I am short and the recliner is an oversized recliner, and it's a little difficult getting in and out of the recliner and it's really a son of a gun to get the feet down on it.
Another thing I should add, the reason I can write in my blog and write my e-mails is before I went for the surgery I installed my Point & Speak which my son had gotten last year for Christmas, which I have to say that was a pretty good invention this is my third Point & Speak out of all of them this is the one that really works the best. And another reason I decided to had the surgery at this point in time is my daughter's home on leave from the Army which if I have a problem she is here to help me get through it when my wife is at work, to my surprise I have already started therapy two days after surgery which during the right arm surgery I didn't start until a week later, I have to say though it is really sore and it still hurts like the dickens at times but like like they say no pain no gain, So we'll just take one day at a time and see what develops.
Until next entry everybody have a happy Thanksgiving weekend, and enjoy the weekend and be careful and look out for the snow.
Take Care God Bless By for now
