I have just seen on the news that the unit at Fairbanks Alaska has been extended for their tour of Iraq My heart really goes out to these families being the father of 2 children who are presently deployed in Afghanistan, I really understand what they are going threw and I really believe that you have to have a family member in the Military to understand what it is like not being able to talk to your Love One and not knowing when they will be able to call them and knowing that if you do write to them it takes at least 2 to 3 weeks for them to even get the letter, I know how much I miss my Children and one of my Kids doesn't have Internet access where he is at and Thank Heavens that my Daughter has that type of access but I know that she also gets very busy, So as a Family Member all we can do is check our e-mail and also our mail box's everyday and hope that there is a letter I even check my E-Mail quite often like 3 to 5 times a day, because you just never know when they are going to write and another thing is they have totally different times I think that they are 8 to 10 hours ahead of us and like one of my children has said to me that they really don't want to call us in their afternoon because it is our night ( middle of the night ) but like I told them I don't care what time they call I am up most of the time anyway some from Worry and some because I just can't sleep that comes from all the years that I worked the night shift. after 22 years on the nightshift it is real hard getting to sleep when it is dark out I guess you can say that I got my days and nights mixed up and at this age I really don't think that I will be able to change, But like I told the kids I really don't care I am retired now and I can sleep anytime that they are the important part of my life and they come first and always will they both will understand what I am talking about when they have Children, ask any parent they would do anything for their children.
We went out and got another camera for this laptop and now that it is repaired it is running like a new computer I guess that new ram made a hugh different's , I went out and got the Wife her corn on the cob and she really liked it and I really have to say it was great it was sugar and butter and I sure hope that they still have some tomorrow when the wife gets home form work I guess we are going to get another dozen, I have to take the wife to Bedford to some kind of store that sells old stuff she is looking for a butter churn or something like that she is getting ready for the fall season and she also wants to get some stuff for her fall displace she really looks forward to that even tho she put on a big thing like I'm not going to do nothing but she always does, then we will be getting the platforms down for our Christmas displace, I have to say that we really go over board with this porch but I have to be truthful the reason behind it is where we lived before if we would put anything out it could be stolen even tho we were very luck we never had nothing stolen but the other neighbor have maybe it is because the people who were doing the steeling know the Kids and knew the kids would kick their butt, even tho I taught then not to hurt anyone Like the Good Books says Do Unto Other as You Would have Other do Unto You and I have to say as I have said so many times I have 2 Great Children God has Really Bless Me and My Wife
